My 10-year-old gas water heater started leaking water on top. This was due to no type of sealant used at the factory on the inlet, outlet, and rod threads. I have been a plumber for 30 years and never seen such a poor assembly job. Just a little Teflon tape with some liquid sealant and there would have no leaks for 20-25 years. Whoever is in charge of quality control should be fired.
I will never recommend any GE appliances to any of my customers and friends.
