air spitting when using faucet

by james hybicki

Had a new gas hot water heater 50 gallon installed in March of 2018. Since it was installed I have had a spitting sound when I turn on the water first thing every day. The installers came out and all I got was a shrug of shoulders and said it wasn't covered by warranty.

They said to possibly replace an anode rod (on a new water heater???) which wasn't also covered by warranty. They called the manufacturer and was told by tech support they didn't know and it wasn't covered by warranty.

Do I live with it and it is not something to worry about, or get further plumbing company help and legal help because I think whatever they did it should be covered by warranty by someone.

air in hot water after heater not in cold (new heater)
by: Anonymous

After installing a new 40 gal ao smith hot water heater, after one month, there is continual air build-up when opening faucet each time. Only on the hot water. I am on a well; there is no build-up of air on the cold side. Plumbing was not changed; only a new heater install to the same inlet and outlet. The problem did not exist before installing a new heater. There are no leaks in a system ( a pump only runs when water is used). I am an engineer and can't find the problem. New shark - bite connectors were used instead of solder joints. Puzzled!
